Dodgers’ Kershaw to IL with forearm inflammation

MLB

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw has been placed on the 10-day injured list with left forearm inflammation, the team announced Wednesday.

The team recalled right-hander Mitch White in a corresponding move.

Kershaw last pitched on Saturday against the Nationals in Washington, D.C. He lasted just 54 pitches and four innings because of rain, which caused a one-hour, 44-minute delay that kept the game from resuming until 10:20 p.m.

Kershaw is 9-7 with a 3.39 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 18 starts this season for the Dodgers, who trail the San Francisco Giants by a half-game in the NL West entering play Wednesday night.
