The Sacramento Kings are hiring former guard Bobby Jackson to be the new head coach of their G League Stockton Kings, a source told ESPN’s The Undefeated.
Jackson was previously an assistant coach and player-development coach for the Kings.
The 12-year NBA veteran averaged 9.7 points and 3.1 assists with the Kings, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Hornets and Houston Rockets.
The 2003 NBA Sixth Man of the Year began working as an assistant coach in the NBA in 2011 with the Kings and also once served as a player development coach with the Wolves.
Kings assistant coach Lindsey Harding and advance scout Jonah Herscu also interviewed for the job.
The G League Stockton Kings opted out of the G League bubble in Orlando, Fla., during this past season and will resume play in Stockton next season.
