Orlando Magic coach Steve Clifford was released from a Minneapolis hospital late Friday night, hours after he fell ill and left his team’s 132-118 win over the Timberwolves.

Clifford was diagnosed with dehydration and has been cleared to resume coaching, the Magic said.

Clifford left the floor after he experienced dizziness during the third quarter, the team said. He underwent preliminary tests at Target Center before being taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for further evaluation.

Clifford was replaced by assistant coach Tyrone Corbin.

“He just came over and said, ‘You’re going to have to take it,’ and I didn’t really know what it meant until I saw him walk off,” Corbin said. “It was kind of a shocker. But we’re praying he’s well.”

Magic players said their coach didn’t give any indication on the bench he wasn’t feeling well, until they saw he wasn’t on the court any longer.

“It was really crazy,” Markelle Fultz said. “At first. I thought he was just going to use the bathroom. I seen him kind of walk off, but when I came out they told me he wasn’t feeling well.”
