Toss England chose to bowl v South Africa

Under heavy cloud cover in Johannesburg, Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to chase, allowing 22-year old Saqib Mahmood first use of the Wanderers surface on debut. England made three changes to their XI for the series decider, bringing back Moeen Ali for his first international appearance since August and including Adil Rashid, who earns his 100th ODI cap. Sam Curran, Chris Woakes and Matt Parkinson sit out.

South Africa would also have preferred to bowl first, especially with Lungi Ngidi back in the XI after being rested for the abandoned Durban match. Ngidi replaced Bjorn Fortuin, who plays his domestic cricket at the Wanderers but will have to wait for another opportunity to see international action. Janneman Malan and Kyle Verreynne are the two members of the squad who have not played in this series, as South Africa seek consistency and success, after a disappointing performance in the Test series.

The teams aside, this match marks a special occasion on the South African cricket calendar. Pink Day raises money for breast cancer treatment and has become an occasion of celebrity and sound at the stadium. Special guests include a former Miss South Africa and rapper Sho Madjozi and both teams have turned up with pink accessories. While South Africa have completely changed kit and will play in pink, England included some pink on their shoulders. A crowd of more than 30,000 is expected.
