The San Francisco 49ers‘ thrilling 48-46 victory over the New Orleans Saints came at a heavy injury price.
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that starting center Weston Richburg will miss the remainder of the season with a torn patellar tendon and two key starters on defense — cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Dee Ford — will be sidelined multiple weeks.
Sherman has a hamstring strain and likely will be out a couple of weeks, Shanahan said. Ford also has a hamstring injury, which he aggravated in Sunday’s game. Shanahan said Ford likely will be out at least three weeks.
Sherman leads the 49ers with 11 passes defensed and three interceptions this season.
Ford, acquired in an offseason trade with the Kansas City Chiefs, is tied for third on the team with 6.5 sacks this season.
