Turner (ankle) likely to miss Pacers’ next game

NBA

Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner is expected to miss Friday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of a sprained right ankle.

Turner, 23, suffered the injury in the first quarter of Wednesday’s victory over the Nets in Brooklyn and did not return to the contest.

The Pacers have not provided a specific timetable for Turner’s return, but his teammates told reporters Wednesday night that they don’t expect him to play Friday against Cleveland.

The Athletic reported that Turner likely will undergo an MRI once the Pacers return to Indiana and that he is expected to miss multiple games.

The 6-foot-11 Turner is averaging 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds in four games this season for Indiana.
