The UFC has added a lightweight fight between Kevin Lee and Gregor Gillespie to its UFC 244 pay-per-view event on Nov. 2, promotion officials said Tuesday.

UFC 244 is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden, in Gillespie’s home state.

Lee (17-5) is a longtime lightweight but moved up to the 170-pound welterweight division in his most recent performance. He suffered a submission loss to Rafael dos Anjos in May. Last month, the 27-year-old told ESPN he was planning to move back down to his original home of 155 pounds.

Initially, Lee wanted a matchup with Islam Makhachev (18-1). However, sources told ESPN that Makhachev does not plan to fight again in 2019.

Gillespie (13-0), of Long Island, New York, is a former Division I NCAA national champion wrestler. He is 6-0 since signing with the UFC in 2016.

A welterweight matchup between Nate Diaz (20-11) and Jorge Masvidal (34-13) is scheduled to headline UFC 244.
