Ortega-Jung to headline UFC’s final card of 2019

A featherweight matchup between two former title challengers in Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung will headline the UFC’s final card of 2019, on Dec. 21 in Busan, South Korea.

The UFC announced the 145-pound contest on Monday. The UFC Fight Night event will take place at Sajik Arena and air on ESPN+.

Ortega (14-1) hasn’t fought since he came up short in a title bid against Max Holloway at UFC 231 in December. The 28-year-old has been sidelined by injuries for much of 2019, and has also made significant changes to his camp. The loss to Holloway, which came via TKO in the fourth round, was the first of Ortega’s career.

Jung (15-5), better known as Korean Zombie, is coming off a 58-second knockout of Renato Moicano in June. Jung fought Jose Aldo for the UFC’s featherweight title in 2013, and lost via TKO. He took two years off after that bout to fulfill a mandatory military service in South Korea.

Prior to the win against Moicano, Jung suffered a last-second defeat against Yair Rodriguez in a five-round bout last November.
