UFC fans south of the border should be getting a treat Saturday night.
Two of the world’s most exciting featherweight fighters, Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens, are set to clash in the main event in Mexico City.
Rodriguez is coming off perhaps the most exciting knockout in UFC history when he landed an upward elbow on Chan Sung Jung with one second remaining last November in Denver. Stephens, meanwhile, is trying to stop the rise of the 26-year-old Mexican firecracker and ascend once against into title contention. Stephens is ranked No. 9 among featherweights by ESPN.
In the co-main event, former strawweight champion Carla Esparza will attempt to stave off prospect Alexa Grasso. The undercard is highlighted by a pair of big flyweight fights — Brandon Moreno vs. promising debutante Askar Askarov and Sergio Pettis vs. Tyson Nam. Sijara Eubanks also features in a standout bout on the card, taking on Bethe Correia in a women’s bantamweight fight.
