Umar Nurmagomedov, the younger cousin of undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, will make an appearance at PFL 6 on Aug. 8, according to the promotion.

Umar Nurmagomedov, who is also undefeated at 10-0, will face Sidemar Honorio (13-6) in a non-tournament bantamweight bout. The one-off fight is not part of PFL’s year-long season, but is being titled a “New Fighter Showcase” by PFL.

This will mark Umar Nurmagomedov’s second fight for PFL. He picked up a unanimous decision under the PFL banner in August 2018.

Fighting out of Dagestan and American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, Umar Nurmagomedov has a similar fighting style to his cousin Khabib, who is coming off a submission win over Conor McGregor and has become one of the most famous MMA fighters in the world.

“Umar Nurmagomedov has proven to be more than just ‘Khabib’s cousin,'” said PFL president of fighter operations Ray Sefo. “He is a rising star in the sport with unlimited potential.”

PFL 6 is scheduled to take place at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City and will air on ESPN2.
