New Melbourne City coach Erick Mombaerts says he will bring an attractive style of play to the club.

Brisbane Roar have landed their 10th signing of the week with ex-Perth Glory defender Scott Neville joining the rebuilding A-League club.

Neville, 30, will join his new teammates on Monday when the Roar begin preseason training under the gaze of their new coach, Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.

Former Australian under-23 international Neville joins the Roar after winning last year’s A-League premiership in his second stint with the Glory.

During his previous spell at the Glory, Neville was a teammate of Fowler when the ex-England international spent a year with the Western Australia club.

“It’s exciting to work under him,” Neville said.

“He was the ultimate professional as a player and I’m sure he will be as head coach as well.”

Neville is one of several new faces at the Roar after 16 players were released or retired after a disastrous 2018-19 season, and his arrival follows that of Irish striker Roy O’Donovan and young Australian midfielder Aiden O’Neill.

Neville has made 198 A-League appearances across 11 seasons spending time at Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers as well as Perth.
