Former University of Oregon football standout Keanon Lowe subdued a person with a gun who appeared on a Portland, Oregon, high school campus.

Portland Police Sgt. Brad Yakots said Friday no one was injured and that the suspect is in custody.

Lowe, a wide receiver at Oregon from 2011 to 2014, told the Oregonian/OregonLive that he is tired, but happy he could be there for the students and community.

Students interviewed by the newspaper say they were in a government class when a male student entered with a gun but was almost immediately tacked by Lowe.

Lowe had 68 catches for 891 yards and 11 touchdowns in his Ducks career and averaged nearly 15 yards a catch in 2014, the year Oregon went to the College Football Playoff National Championship game and lost to Ohio State.

A native of Portland, Lowe also works as a security guard at the school.
