England’s Watson set to return from 13-month absence

England international Anthony Watson is set to return to action after a 13-month absence, his club Bath have announced.

Watson, 25, has been selected in the starting XV at full-back to face Sale Sharks on Friday in the Gallagher Premiership.

The back has not featured for club or country since rupturing his Achilles tendon during the 2018 Six Nations.

Watson will be joined in the back by England teammates Joe Cokanasiga and Jonathan Joseph.

Both sides are looking to enhance their hopes of securing a top four finish with three more rounds of the season remaining.

Watson has scored 15 tries in 33 Tests during his international career.
