Liverpool look set to boost title hopes against Tottenham at Anfield

Football
Ross Dyer and Stevie Nicol predict every match in Week 32 of the Premier League, where Liverpool host Spurs and Man City travel to Fulham.
The FC crew delve into Wayne Rooney’s comments as to why Liverpool winning the Premier League title would be ‘a nightmare.’

We correctly tipped up Alvaro Morata at 9/4 to score first for Spain in midweek but incurred a loss overall as Republic of Ireland’s 1-0 win over Georgia scuppered our 13/2 treble. Club football returns this weekend, with Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Tottenham at Anfield the stand-out fixture.

Running total: -£73.80

The Banker

The bookies think Liverpool vs. Spurs could be close but if you delve a little deeper it’s hard to look beyond a home win. Spurs have claimed just one point from their last four league games and have lost five of their last six away matches. Meanwhile, Liverpool are unbeaten in 15 Premier League home games this season and returned to the summit by beating Fulham before the international break. The Reds were also worthy 2-1 winners when the teams clashed at Wembley back in September. Spurs’ recent domestic form has been awful, so 6/4 about Liverpool winning this by more than a goal looks juicy.

Selection: £6 on Liverpool (-1) to win at 6/4 with bet365.

The First Goal Flutter

Raheem Sterling has been on fire in recent weeks, helping himself to eight goals in his last five games for club and country. Fulham’s defence is not the quickest and they could struggle against the electric pace of Sterling in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Selection: £2 on Sterling to score first at 4/1 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Everton have lost eight of their 15 away games already this season so it could pay to back West Ham at 29/20. The Hammers have won six of their last nine at the London Stadium and home advantage could swing this. Elsewhere, Leicester City have hit eight goals in their last four matches and look good things at 4/5 to see off Bournemouth at home. The Cherries have struggled on the road this season and look right up against it at the King Power. Finally, four straight losses have left Burnley with a serious relegation headache once again while Wolves have lost just one of their last 12 matches and look a cracking punt at 13/10 to win at Turf Moor. The treble is paying just over 9/1 with bet365 and looks tempting.

Selection: £3 on the treble at 9.14/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

It’s pretty surprising to see Roma chalked up as 2/1 outsiders to beat Napoli at home on Sunday. The Giallorossi have lost just one of 13 league games in the Italian capital while Napoli’s erratic away form is the primary reason they are currently 15 points behind leaders Juventus. Roma have won five of their last six at the Stadio Olimpico and look a solid shout here.

Selection: £4 on Roma to win at 2/1 with bet365.

The Wildcard Tip

Cardiff are currently odds on for the drop but sit just two points from safety. They host Chelsea this weekend and won’t make life easy for the Blues, whose away form under Maurizio Sarri remains a worry. Much will depend on their ability to keep the irascible Eden Hazard quiet but if they do they can claim a share of the spoils on Sunday.

Selection: £2 on both teams to score and draw at 9/2 with bet365.
