Transfer Talk: Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey agrees deal to move to Juventus

Football
Shaka Hislop examines the latest transfer rumours involving Aaron Ramsey, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Chicharito and Toby Alderweireld.

The transfer window for Europe’s biggest clubs might be closed, but they are still working tirelessly behind the scenes to line up the arrival of their next star. Transfer Talk has been scouring the world’s media to see who could be heading to your club when Jan. 1 arrives.

TOP STORY: Ramsey agrees to join Juventus

One of Italy’s leading newspapers, Corielle dello Sport, claims Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has agreed to join Juventus.

The daily newspaper claims confirmation of the Wales international’s move to the Serie A champions will be made official imminently.

Another publication, Tuttosport, also carries a Ramsey article on the front page, which includes reported details of the contract.

It claims the 28-year-old is in line for a four-year deal worth €8 million per season. Ramsey’s Arsenal contract expires in the summer, when he will be able to leave for free.

Inter want to sign world-class duo Kroos and Godin

Italy’s newspapers are full of transfer talk on Monday, and Inter Milan in particular are dominating column inches. Corielle dello Sport claims the Nerazzurri are in talks with not one Madrid club, but two over the transfers of Real’s midfield maestro Toni Kroos and Atleti’s defensive stalwart Diego Godin.

Both players are considered to be world leaders in their position and would cost a lot of money, but it appears Inter are ready to spend big in 2019.

The Serie A side were taken over by Chinese retail giant Suning Commerce Group in 2016.

Inter also keen to secure Kovacic’s services

There has been talk of Chelsea trying to make Mateo Kovacic’s loan move to Stamford Bridge permanent, but they are not the only club interested. Inter is keen on the Croatian, if Tuttosport are to be believed.

The 24-year-old is on a season-long loan from Real Madrid after being part of the deal that took Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.

It was recently reported that Real were considering offering Kovacic and Isco as part of a bid for Eden Hazard, but it has emerged that Inter are also keen on the player who spent 2½ seasons with them between 2013 and 2015.

Isco will not be moving in January

And speaking of Isco … he is arguably the best player who realistically might have moved in the January transfer window, but the Spain star has seemingly ended talk of a move away from Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old has not started a league game under new manager Santiago Solari after a fallout and was strongly linked with several of Europe’s top clubs.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG are a handful of those reportedly interested in a big-money move, but The Metro quotes Isco as telling Deportes Cuatro he will not be leaving in January and wants to remain at the Bernabeu.

One man who won’t be heading to Inter is Jose

Jose Mourinho’s departure from Manchester United has left people wondering where the outspoken coach will end up next. Well it won’t be Inter Milan, if their sporting director is to be believed.

Mourinho won the Champions League at Inter in 2010 before resigning to take over at Real Madrid. The former Chelsea boss still left Italy on bad terms, although that isn’t the reason he won’t be returning.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio told Sky Italia they will be sticking with Luciano Spalletti, as they are only 18 months into their “project” and expect him to remain for years to come.

Football Whispers’ transfer algorithm gives the likelihood of rumours happening, using a score of 1-5.

Mason Holgate to West Brom — 4.8

Everton defender Holgate is on the verge of joining West Brom in what is likely to be a loan move. The 22-year-old, who has not made an Everton match-day squad since mid-September, is said to have already completed his medical.

Dominic Solanke to Crystal Palace — 4.0

Roy Hodgson has publicly confirmed his interest in Solanke, and the Daily Mail has reported that a medical has even taken a place ahead of the loan switch. The 21-year-old has not made the bench in the league or Champions League all season.

Javier Hernandez to Valencia — 3.6

Valencia and West Ham United are reportedly in talks over the sale of striker Hernandez in January. The 30-year-old has made only seven league starts this season.

Mats Hummels to Chelsea — 2.6

Chelsea are said to have asked how much World Cup winner Hummels will cost and were told he could become a Blues player for £30m. The 30-year-old has started only three of the past nine games due to selection and injury issues.

Junior Firpo to Manchester City — 2.5

Pep Guardiola is said to be keen on landing Real Madrid transfer target Firpo. The 22-year-old is rumoured to be valued at about £40m by his club, Real Betis.
