The UFC announced Friday it would return to London for a show at the O2 Arena on Saturday Mar. 17.
It will be the organisation’s 11th event to be held in London and the first since Alexander Volkov knocked out Farbrico Werdum earlier in 2018.
“Ever since our first event in London in 2002, the city has always been a special location for the UFC,” David Shaw, UFC Senior Vice President for International and Content, said.
“The U.K. is home to many of our world class mixed martial artists and it’s fantastic to see the sport continue to go from strength to strength here.”
The card for the fight night has yet to be announced but light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa was mentioned on the organisation’s press release. Manuwa, who is from London, takes on Thiago Santos at UFC 231 in December.
“There’s nothing like the London fans, especially for me as it’s my home town,” Manuwa said.
“Walking out to a packed O2 arena, looking at the crowd and seeing so many familiar faces is a dream in itself.”
Tickets for the London event go on sale on Friday Feb. 1.
