Warner walks off mid-innings after alleged sledge

Banned Australia batsman David Warner has been involved in a bizarre incident during a grade match in Sydney on Saturday where he walked off the pitch mid-innings.

Playing for Randwick-Petersham against Western Suburbs, Warner left the field when on 35. The suggestion from the ground was that he had taken offence to a sledge, although the nature of the comment was unknown.

The match came to halt for a few minutes before Warner resumed his innings.

Warner is currently serving his one-year ban from international and state cricket handed down by Cricket Australia in the wake of the Newlands ball-tampering controversy.
