Major League Baseball has fined Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Manny Machado an undisclosed amount for the way he ran into the Milwaukee Brewers‘ Jesus Aguilar in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series last night, sources confirmed to ESPN.
The Athletic was first to report that Machado was fined.
Machado clipped Aguilar’s back leg while running out a ground out in the 10th inning Tuesday night.
Both benches cleared after the incident. Aguilar’s right foot was on first base, and it appeared Machado intentionally kicked it with his left foot out of frustration after being called out.
“It was a dirty play by a dirty player,” Brewers star outfielder Christian Yelich said after the game.
