Source: Bengals fire DC Anarumo after 6 seasons

NFL

The Cincinnati Bengals fired defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo on Monday after missing the postseason, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Bengals (9-8) missed the postseason despite outstanding seasons from quarterback Joe Burrow (4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns) and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (127 receptions, 1,708 yards, 17 TDs).

Anarumo, 58, has been the Bengals’ defensive coordinator for the past six seasons.

The Bengals had the NFL’s sacks leader in Trey Hendrickson (17.5) but finished 25th in points allowed this season.
