NFL

DETROIT — Trailing two touchdowns at home, the Detroit Lions needed a spark before halftime against the Buffalo Bills.

Detroit pulled from their endless back of tricks as offensive lineman Dan Skipper reported in as eligible then caught a short pass from quarterback Jared Goff before barreling into the end zone.

Skipper’s nine-yard touchdown at 3:01 in the second quarter helped the Lions close the gap to 21-14.

The Lions are the only team with multiple receiving touchdowns by a non-running back, wide receiver or tight end this season, per ESPN Research.

Later, Goff connected with star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for a 66-yard touchdown with 1:41 remaining in the third quarter. The TD snapped St. Brown’s drought of three straight games without receiving touchdown.
