Beasley exits Lakers debut with head laceration

NBA

SAN DIEGO — Michael Beasley‘s debut with the Los Angeles Lakers lasted six minutes after he was forced out of Sunday’s preseason opener with a head laceration.

Beasley came off the bench to score four points, including a 3-pointer, before leaving against the Denver Nuggets for good with 9 minutes, 2 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

The team said Beasley had no initial concussion-like symptoms but would be re-evaluated Monday.

The Lakers were taking a look at some of their small-ball lineups with Beasley at center before he left due to the injury. Coach Luke Walton tried using Kyle Kuzma and Beasley at center behind starter JaVale McGee against Denver.
