Chicago will host LIV Golf’s 2024 individual championship in September at Bolingbrook Golf Club, the Saudi Arabia-backed circuit announced Tuesday.

The Sept. 13-15 event, which will crown the LIV Golf League individual champion, is also the last opportunity for players to secure their spot in the league for 2025 and will also determine seedings for the 2024 team championship.

The 7,104-yard Bolingbrook Golf Club layout, which is 30 miles from downtown Chicago, was designed by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills and partner Steve Forrest.

The course features elevated tees, rolling fairways and seven lakes scattered throughout a layout that includes a true island green at the 156-yard, par-three 15th hole.

Following the conclusion of the individual championship, those who finish in the lock zone (1-24) will secure spots in the league for 2025 while players with expiring contracts who finish in the open zone (25-48) become free agents.

Players finishing in the drop zone (49 and below) are relegated out of the league and qualify for the 2024 LIV Golf Promotions tournament.

Last year’s individual championship was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Talor Gooch secured the individual title and $18 million bonus.
