Thunder’s Biyombo set to return after collapse

NBA

Oklahoma City Thunder center Bismack Biyombo said in a social media post that he will play against the Miami Heat on Friday after collapsing on the court because of dehydration Wednesday.

Biyombo said he has been fasting for 15 years, but this is the first time he has had an issue because of it.

“We’ve done all the testing. I’m good,” Biyombo said. “I’ll be back playing [Friday]. Just had a little bit of dehydration there.”

Biyombo collapsed while standing in front of the Thunder bench during the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game at the Portland Trail Blazers.

He fell as the team went to the sideline in a timeout. During a lengthy delay, a wheelchair was brought onto the court but never used. Biyombo was helped off and headed for the locker room.

The Thunder said it was not a serious medical condition, although Biyombo did not return.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
