Cavaliers’ Strus out vs. Celtics with knee strain

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Max Strus has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the visiting Boston Celtics due to a right knee strain.

Strus has started all 60 games this season for the Cavaliers, who are playing in the opener of a back-to-back set. They visit the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

Strus, 27, is averaging 12.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 32.2 minutes per game this season.

All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell will sit out Tuesday’s game and at least the next two contests after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection Monday to treat a bone bruise, the team announced.

Mitchell, who boasts team-best averages in points (28.0), assists (6.2) and steals (1.8), sat out the Cavaliers’ win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday and the loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday due to soreness in his left knee.

Guard Caris LeVert (elbow) and forward Isaac Okoro (elbow) are listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game.
