TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals will place veteran tight end Zach Ertz on injured reserve because of a quad strain, a source confirmed to ESPN.
Ertz suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. It marks the second straight season Ertz has landed on IR.
Ertz tore his ACL in Week 10 last season and missed the rest of the year. He returned in August this season and has 27 catches — the second most on the team — for 187 yards and a touchdown.
Ertz had three catches on four targets for 19 yards Sunday. The Cardinals’ plan to place Ertz on IR was first reported Tuesday by NFL Network.
