Anderson ejected over Webb quick-pitch dispute

CHICAGO — Chicago White Sox star Tim Anderson was ejected from Wednesday’s game against the San Francisco Giants.

Anderson was trying to call timeout batting against Logan Webb with a 1-2 count in the third inning. He stepped out of the box. The pitch came, and plate umpire D.J. Reyburn called him out on strikes.

Anderson had words with him and continued to yell from the dugout. He was thrown out as Luis Robert Jr. got called out on strikes.

The ejection was Anderson’s first this season and the eighth of his career.
