NBA All-Star Game 2023: DK Metcalf dunks his way to celebrity game MVP

NBA

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf got NBA All-Star Weekend off to a thrilling start with a high-flying performance in the Ruffles All-Star Celebrity Game.

Metcalf finished the game with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks, helping Team Dwyane Wade, captained by the three-time NBA champion and Utah Jazz minority owner, eke out an 81-78 victory. Metcalf’s double-double performance won him the game’s MVP award.

He showed off his hops early and often with a barrage of dunks.

On defense, Metcalf’s bounce was equally impressive, sending back shots with regularity.

Metcalf’s teammate, Tyler Lockett, and his squad loved what they were seeing from their pass-catcher.

There was some drama late in the game, however. Team Ryan, captained by governor of the Jazz Ryan Smith, trailed by three with little time left in regulation. As time expired, WWE wrestler The Miz scored what was believed to be a game-winning 4-point shot. Luckily for Metcalf and Team Dwyane, it didn’t count after further review.

Wade and Lockett congratulated Metcalf on his new hardware.
