Free-agent guard JJ Redick has agreed to stay with the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year deal that will pay him in the $12 million to $13 million range, league sources tell ESPN.
The 76ers moved quickly to close on Redick’s deal once LeBron James chose to join the Los Angeles Lakers. Redick, the Sixers’ starting shooting guard, gets his second consecutive one-year contract.
Redick, 34, had a tremendous impact on the 76ers last season, averaging a career-best 17 points and shooting 42 percent from 3-point range. He averaged 18.2 points in 10 playoff games as Philadelphia ended a five-year postseason absence.
Redick has played 12 NBA seasons, also playing for the Magic, Bucks and Clippers.
