Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols before Sunday’s road game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team announced.
Assistant coach Alex Jensen will serve as the Jazz’s acting head coach during the absence of Snyder, who is the league’s 18th coach to enter health and safety protocols this season.
Reserve forward Danuel House Jr. also entered the protocols on Sunday.
The Jazz, who are in fourth place in the Western Conference, have lost 10 of their previous 12 games entering Sunday. Utah has dealt with a COVID-19 outbreak throughout their team and a injuries to their two stars during the slump.
Guard Donovan Mitchell will miss his seventh consecutive game due to a concussion. Center Rudy Gobert, who missed five games due to COVID-19, will miss his fourth straight game due to a mild calf strain.
