Magic’s Moritz Wagner out for year with torn ACL

NBA

Orlando Magic forward Moritz Wagner has suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

Wagner suffered the injury early in Saturday night’s comeback win over the Miami Heat. It’s the latest blow for a Magic team already missing stars Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner to injuries.

Wagner averaged 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 18.8 minutes per game as a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year this season. He ranks second in the NBA in total scoring off the bench and is averaging a career-high in points, rebounds, steals and 3-point shooting (36% on 2.5 attempts per game).
