Seahawks, former Jags safety Jenkins reach deal

The Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms with former Jacksonville Jaguars safety Rayshawn Jenkins, the team announced Wednesday.

The Jaguars released Jenkins on March 5 to free up money on their salary cap.

Jenkins, 30, had 101 tackles last season, the second straight season he had more than 100 tackles. He also had 2 interceptions.

In three seasons with the Jaguars, Jenkins had 5 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 24 pass breakups and 290 tackles. He signed a four-year, $35 million contract with $16 million guaranteed in March 2021.

He spent the first four years of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he had 5 interceptions, 9 pass breakups and 174 tackles. The Chargers drafted him in the fourth round in 2017 out of Miami.
