Red Wings captain Larkin sidelined two weeks

NHL

Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin will miss the next two weeks with a lower-body injury.

The center left Saturday’s 4-0 loss to the Florida Panthers after receiving a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct at 9:57 of the third period.

Larkin, 27, leads the Red Wings in goals (26) and points (54) through 55 games this season. He leads the team’s forwards in ice time per game (19:52).

Larkin has 491 points (205 goals, 286 assists) in 639 games since being selected by Detroit in the first round (15th overall) in 2014.

The Red Wings (33-22-6) enter this week holding the first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Detroit has not been to the Stanley Cup playoffs since the 2015-16 season.
