Rauf out of remainder of PSL with shoulder dislocation

Haris Rauf has been ruled out of the remainder of PSL 2024 with a dislocated shoulder. The Lahore Qalandars fast bowler suffered the injury during the match against Karachi Kings on Saturday and will need four to six weeks to recover.

It was on the second last ball of the game that Rauf injured himself while taking an excellent catch at the long-off boundary rope. He caught Hasan Ali’s swing down the ground and tossed it away before falling and taking a tumble, which led to Hasan’s dismissal.

Rauf was the most economical bowler for his side, picking up 1 for 22 from his four overs, but it was not enough to avoid a fourth loss for Qalandars in as many games. Rauf had played all four games for Qalandars but picked only two wickets in those. Prior to that, he had played four of the five T20Is in New Zealand where he took seven wickets, second-most for his team behind captain Shaheen Shah Afridi’s tally of nine, but with an expensive economy rate of 10.61

Earlier this month, the PCB terminated Rauf’s central contract for making himself unavailable for Pakistan’s Test tour of Australia in late 2023. Rauf had instead opted to play the BBL in Australia for Melbourne Stars.
