Magic’s Suggs helped off court with left leg injury

DALLAS — Orlando Magic point guard Jalen Suggs will undergo an MRI after exiting Friday’s preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks with a lower left leg injury.

X-rays on Suggs’ leg were negative, according to Magic coach Jamahl Mosley.

Suggs was injured with 4 minutes, 2 seconds remaining in the first quarter after a collision with Dallas forward Dorian Finney-Smith. He was helped off the floor and to the locker room, putting little pressure on his left leg.

Suggs, the fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft, had his rookie season interrupted by a fractured right thumb. He averaged 11.8 points and 4.4 assists in 48 games.

Orlando is already without point guard Markelle Fultz, who is out indefinitely due to a fractured left big toe suffered before training camp.
