Guardians, CF Straw agree to five-year extension

MLB

Cleveland Guardians center fielder Myles Straw has signed a five-year extension with the team, it was announced Saturday.

The deal includes club options for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

Cleveland acquired Straw, 27, from the Houston Astros just prior to the trade deadline last season. He hit a combined .271 in 158 games with 4 home runs, 86 runs scored, 48 RBIs and 30 stolen bases between the two clubs.

It is the third extension announced by the Guardians this week, following new deals for closer Emmanuel Clase and third baseman Jose Ramirez.
