Josh Hazlewood earned the final bowling slot in the Australia side

Australia won the toss and decided to bowl against West Indies

West Indies were without their captain Kieron Pollard who has a minor injury for the opening match of the series against Australia in St Lucia where the visitors won the toss and opted to bowl.

Nicholas Pooran will take over the captaincy for this match, leading West Indies for the first time, with Fabian Allen and Hayden Walsh Jr coming back into the side.

Dan Christian’s return was confirmed for Australia after a gap of four years as they reshape their line-up with more allrounders and four specialist bowlers. Josh Hazlewood took the final bowling slot as Australia resisted the temptation of a third frontline spinner.
