Wiseman injures knee on hard fall, will have MRI

NBA

SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors rookie center James Wiseman left Saturday night’s 125-109 win over the Houston Rockets with a right knee injury and did not return.

Wiseman will undergo an MRI on the knee either Saturday night or Sunday, head coach Steve Kerr said.

The injury occurred early in the second quarter after Wiseman went up for a dunk and landed awkwardly after being blocked by Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr.

Wiseman’s knee appeared to hit the floor hard, and he got up slowly and walked around after the play. After spending the ensuing timeout trying to loosen up the knee, Wiseman walked slowly off the floor with a member of the Warriors’ training staff.

Wiseman had six points and a rebound in six minutes of action before the injury.
