The Baltimore Orioles exercised their $3.5 million option on shortstop Jose Iglesias‘ contract for the 2021 season on Sunday.
Iglesias, 30, hit .373 with three home runs and 24 RBIs this season, his first with the Orioles.
Iglesias made 22 starts at shortstop this season and also started 13 games at designated hitter, appearing in 39 games overall.
He is a career .278 hitter with 35 home runs and 271 RBIs in nine major league seasons.
