Tea Victoria 0 for 233 (Pucovski 112*, Harris 111*) lead South Australia 200 (Hunt 50, Sutherland 3-26) by 33 runs
Victoria opening pair Marcus Harris and Will Pucovski each sent a reminder to Australia’s Test selectors with centuries during a double-century opening stand that gave the visitors the first innings lead against a hapless South Australia at Glenelg Oval.
Harris, who has not played a Test match since he was dropped following the 2019 Ashes, was rewarded for some off-season work on his technical set-up, cruising to his 14th first-class century just before tea, his fifth against South Australia.
Pucovski, in his first innings as an opener in first-class cricket, reached his fifth Sheffield Shield century just an over later, having declared this week that he was in the best mental state of his young career having regularly missed games over the last three seasons due to mental health and concussion issues.
The pair raced past South Australia’s first-innings total without losing a wicket.
