The UFC is in the process of finalizing a fight between Glover Teixeira and Thiago Santos that will headline a Sept. 12 card, sources told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.
The matchup of the Brazilians would pit two of the promotion’s top light heavyweights against each other. Santos is ranked fifth in the division in ESPN’s latest rankings; Teixeira comes in at seventh.
Santos (21-7-0) hasn’t fought since a decision loss to Jon Jones last July. Teixeira is coming off a victory against Anthony Smith in May that marked his fourth straight victory.
