Heat’s Butler out vs. Kings with shoulder strain

NBA

Miami Heat All-Star Jimmy Butler will be out for Friday night’s game with the Sacramento Kings.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said at shootaround that an MRI on Butler’s shoulder came back clean, but he won’t play in Sacramento.

Butler sustained what the Heat termed a right shoulder strain during the third quarter of the team’s 128-111 loss to the LA Clippers on Wednesday.

Butler is averaging 20.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists this season.

Heat rookie Tyler Herro, who has a foot injury, is also out Friday, Spoelstra said.

The Heat were joined at shootaround by new acquisitions Andre Iguodala, Solomon Hill and Jae Crowder, but none of the new members of the team is expected to play against Sacramento, the first game of a five-game road trip for the Heat.
