Carroll says DLs Clowney, Reed to play vs. Vikes

NFL

RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks expect defensive linemen Jadeveon Clowney and Jarran Reed to be able to play Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings despite both being listed as questionable.

Clowney has been dealing with a core injury that kept him out of last week’s game against Philadelphia. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Saturday that Clowney went through practice the past two days in a limited capacity and will be able to go against the Vikings. Clowney said it will be an injury he will have to manage the rest of the season and that he opted not to have surgery after seeing a specialist last week.

Reed suffered a sprained ankle last week against the Eagles, but was able to practice the past two days. Linebacker Mychal Kendricks was also listed as questionable with a hamstring injury and will need to be checked out before the game, Carroll said.
