ATLANTA — After throwing an interception on his first pass attempt of the game against the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston hit wide receiver Chris Godwin for a 71-yard touchdown to give the Bucs a 7-3 lead.
Coming out of a bunch formation, Winston utilized play-action, looking like he was checking down to running back Ronald Jones, before hitting Godwin deep down the middle against a two-safety look. He slipped past both linebacker Deion Jones and safety Damontae Kazee.

It was the longest touchdown of Winston’s career and the longest catch of Godwin’s career.

Then in the second quarter, Godwin made a leaping catch on a skinny post for a 30-yard reception before running to the flat for a 1-yard touchdown — his second of the game — and to retake the lead 13-0. Godwin has now reached 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career.
