Harris’ stepdaughter missing; police investigating

The stepdaughter of a UFC fighter has been reported missing, and law enforcement is seeking information on her whereabouts.

Aniah Blanchard, the stepdaughter of UFC heavyweight Walt Harris, was reported missing Thursday and last communicated with a friend Wednesday night, just before midnight, according to the Auburn (Alabama) Police Division. Harris posted about the situation Thursday on Instagram, asking his followers for help in finding her.

An investigation is underway. Police said there is no evidence of foul play.

Blanchard, 19, is a resident of Auburn and a student at Southern Union State Community College. According to police, she was last seen driving a 2017 black Honda CR-V. The vehicle’s whereabouts are also unknown.

On Friday, Auburn police chief Paul Register announced that Blanchard’s vehicle was last seen in the early morning hours of Thursday near S. College St. and I-85 in Auburn.

Register, in a video uploaded to the Auburn police website, requested help from the public in locating Blanchard.

Harris, 36, is scheduled to fight Alistair Overeem in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 7. Harris (13-7, 1 NC) is unbeaten in four straight bouts.
