Forward Taurean Prince has signed a two-year, $29 million contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets, Steve Heumann of CAA Sports told ESPN.
Prince, who was traded to the Nets from Atlanta in June, was eligible for his rookie contract extension as part of the NBA’s 2016 draft class.
Heumann and Dave Spahn negotiated the deal for CAA Sports, along with Richard Beda.
The two-year deal will allow Prince to have chance at unrestricted free agency at 28 years old — still in the prime of his career.
Prince averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists last season. During the preseason, Prince averaged a team-high 16.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
Prince played college ball at Baylor.
The Nets will open the regular season on Wednesday against Minnesota.
