Redskins’ Peterson healthy scratch for 1st time

NFL

For the first time in his career, Adrian Peterson is a healthy scratch.

The veteran running back is inactive for the Redskins’ season opener against the Eagles.

Peterson started all 16 games for Washington last season and finished with 1,042 yards, but he lost the starting job to Derrius Guice, who missed all of his rookie season with a torn ACL.
