Former french international Frank Leboeuf joins ESPN FC to give his thoughts on the Neymar transfer saga that continues to drag on between Barcelona and PSG.

Neymar was all smiles as he arrived in Miami on Monday to join Brazil’s squad for the upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Peru.

The Brazilian forward landed in Brazil 24 hours earlier already knowing that his wish to return to Barcelona this summer would not materialise.

All major completed transfer deals

Following weeks of negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain, Barca have been unable to strike a deal to bring Neymar back to Camp Nou and the player is expected to remain in Paris this season.

The PSG forward was greeted by teammates as he arrived to Miami’s Mandarin Oriental, Brazil’s headquarters, at lunchtime. Neymar is expected to take part in the Canarinha‘s first training session on U.S. soil at Barry University’s grounds later in the day.

With ongoing speculation that the 27-year-old could leave the Ligue 1 champions and return to La Liga this summer, Neymar has not played for PSG this season.

Neymar left the Camp Nou in the summer of 2017 after PSG triggered his €222 million buyout clause.

The former Santos star has fully recovered from the ankle injury he picked up while on international duty in June that prevented him from playing at the Copa America his country hosted and eventually won.
