Hill makes Wales squad for Rugby World Cup

Wales’ head coach Warren Gatland has announced his squad for the Rugby World Cup, with a number of surprise calls having been made.

Cory Hill was included despite fears that he may miss the opening two games of the tournament due to injury, while Rob Evans and Samson Lee missed out.

Rhys Carre will travel to Japan, as will brothers Jonathan Davies and James Davies, and Rhys Patchell was given the nod ahead of Jarrod Evans.

Owen Watkin’s inclusion came at the expense of Scott Williams.

In another big call, Hallam Amos will play in Japan and Owen Lane will miss out for the Grand Slam winners.
