Pirates pitchers Archer, Holmes go on 10-day IL

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed a pair of pitchers on the 10-day injured list after both were hurt during Tuesday’s game.

Right-handed pitcher Chris Archer is on the IL with right shoulder inflammation, while right-hander Clay Holmes has a left quadriceps issue.

Archer started Tuesday’s 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals but left after one inning. Holmes came in and threw 3 2/3 innings, giving up one run on one hit.

Right-handed pitchers Dario Agrazal and Parker Markel were recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.
