“The Machine 2.0” is coming to Bellator.
Kennedy Freeman, the 22-year-old daughter of former British MMA star Ian Freeman, has signed a new multi-fight deal with Bellator, sources told ESPN. Freeman, whose promotional debut isn’t set yet, will compete in the flyweight division.
After going 6-1 as an amateur, Freeman is a perfect 3-0 as a pro.
Her father, whose nickname was “The Machine,” had a 20-7-1 MMA record. He is a former Cage Rage heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, as well as a former HooknShoot and British Vale Tudo champion. His most notable victory came at UFC 38 when he defeated Frank Mir via first-round TKO.
In addition to Freeman, Bellator has also signed form Contender Series product Sidney Outlaw to a multi-fight deal, sources say. Outlaw, who will compete in the lightweight division, is 13-3. He beat Michael Cora on Contender Series two years but didn’t get signed by the UFC. His debut fight isn’t finalized yet, as well, according to sources.
